Cynthia  Sharp, Esq. - Sharper Law

Cynthia Sharp (CEO of The Sharper Lawyer) works with motivated lawyers seeking to improve the efficiency, profitability and overall well-being of their law firms. She practiced law from 1982 - 2009 and then embarked on a professional speaking and writing career. Ever since, she has served attorneys throughout North America.

Over the past 35 years, Cindy has delivered close to 240 live presentations on behalf of the American Bar Association, 20 state bar associations, and numerous legal, financial and professional groups, as well as private seminars for her law firm clients. In 2019, Cindy was recognized as Trainer of the Year by the ABA’s Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division.

The crowning achievement of Cindy's life came when she became sober from alcohol on Sept. 23, 2009. Since then, Cindy's has devoted every single day to protecting her mental and physical health. Through this journey, she achieved a level of contentment, happiness, and emotional stability that she previously did not know was possible.

Because she could no longer tolerate the stress of a law practice, after almost 30 years as a practicing attorney, Cindy sold her interest to her junior partner at the end of 2009. Since then, she has dedicated more than 10 years helping attorneys build sustainable and stable law firms through The Sharper Lawyer.

After (virtually!) meeting kindred spirit Becky Howlett amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, Cindy and Becky quickly discovered they had both cultivated meditation practices to reclaim and maintain their overall health and well-being. Together they founded legalburnout.com dedicated to helping legal professionals succeed by applying mindfulness principles to all areas of their lives. By opening sharing their personal stories and promoting stress resilience strategies, they hope to help others in the legal field avoid the burnout, depression, anxiety, and addiction that they each struggled with for much too long.

Cynthia Sharpe lives in Philadelphia with her husband, Mark H. Gallant and their dog, Rocky, and cat, Jackson.
