Session 4 of 10 - Mr. Kornblum, a highly experienced trial and litigation lawyer for over 50 years, will conduct ten 75-minute Webinars sessions on the Essentials of Civil Litigation with the objective of helping lawyers at all levels to evaluate their approach to handling civil cases. The course will explore what you need to consider and how to focus on refining your skills so you can better serve your client in litigated matters. The course will cover topics from when you first agree to represent your client through trial.his course is to serve as the one of the phases of preparing yourself for trial and will help you understand the essentials to being effective in the trial forum. The other phases include practicing in simulations, serving as a second chair and participating in trial, and last trying cases as a first chair.
The focus of this session is being efficient in using discovery. You need to have a plan; using the discovery tools should not be either reactive or haphazard. Mr. Kornblum will discuss techniques for preparing an efficient discovery plan and staying on track. He will also cover topics related to your adversary’s discovery efforts
