Learn effective marketing techniques from leading attorney marketing professionals, while earning 1 hour of ethics credits. The first half of the program will review the attorney advertising rules discussed in Article 7 of the New York State Rules of Professional Conduct, along with select additional rules as they relate to marketing your practice, including Rules 5.7 (Responsibilities Regarding Nonlegal Services) and 5.8 (Contractual Relationships Between Lawyers and Nonlegal Professionals. New ABA Model Rules will also be discussed, including the states that have adopted them. The second half of the program will explore methods to market law practices and how the rules may relate to them, including earning media coverage, traditional advertising, digital advertising, website development and SEO, social media, social media advertising and client communications. The program will include with a review of key New York State ethics opions.
