Sedgwick Jeanite focuses his practice on the representation of domestic and foreign professional liability insurers in coverage and litigation disputes involving a wide array of sophisticated insurance claims including directors and officer’s liability, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability and management liability matters. Sedgwick’s practice also involves advising the firm’s insurance clients in complex matters including shareholder and derivative class action matters; private equity and hedge fund disputes; regulatory investigations involving the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice; and bankruptcy reorganization matters and adversary proceedings. Sedgwick also advises the firm’s insurance clients on large and complex cases involving financial institutions and other professionals.
Sedgwick also has experience in construction litigation, including representing clients in connection with disputes between contractors and subcontractors and resolving issues involving mechanic’s liens.
As a member of the firm's Cyber Law and Data Protection practice, Sedgwick assists clients in analyzing and addressing cybersecurity risks and data breaches.
Sedgwick has advised clients in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and has several years of experience advising and counseling U.S. and international companies, startups and entrepreneurs on a broad range of business-related matters, such as business formation and planning, and all aspects of corporate governance matters, including negotiating asset and stock purchase agreements, shareholder and operating agreements, consulting and employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and product supply and distribution agreements.
