Norton Cutler, a senior counsel in the firm's Litigation practice, focuses his practice on insurance coverage, telecommunications, technology law, privacy and real estate disputes. Norton was in charge of all insurance coverage issues for NCR Corp. from 1990 to 1993 and has recently been involved in three multi-million-dollar insurance recovery for a large financial service company, a large newspaper chain and a mining company. He handled all legal matters for a large wholesale mortgage company and a telecommunications consulting company and currently handles contested foreclosures for several banks and special services. Over the years, Norton has represented US WEST and its successor, Qwest, in numerous telecom regulatory and litigation matters, including the successful appeal of a $500 million rate case and numerous state regulatory proceedings which set the rules and prices for competition between incumbent telecom carriers and new competitors. He recently represented Dex Media in reaching a successful resolution in a directory $10 million error case. Norton was involved in representing the former US WEST in claims against Time Warner arising out of Time Warner's acquisition of Turner Broadcasting Systems and in litigation surrounding the disposition and workouts of its multibillion-dollar real estate portfolio. Norton has tried over 50 arbitrations involving computer and technology disputes while at NCR and U S WEST. In addition to Norton's experience as outside counsel to numerous technology companies, he can also provide unique insight and perspective from the inside of a telecom or technology company, having served as the Associate General Counsel to NCR Corp and US WEST for 13 years prior to joining the firm.
