Matthew D. Orwig, Esq., a partner at Jones Day, focuses his practice on white-collar criminal litigation and investigations; SEC investigations, including defense of insider trading and accounting fraud allegations; health care fraud and abuse; qui tam litigation; internal corporate investigations; privacy and data security; complex civil litigation; and litigation involving government agencies. He also serves as the head of litigation in the Dallas Office. Prior to joining Jones Day, he served as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. Local and national media organizations, such as The Wall Street Journal and NPR, often seek out Mr. Orwig for legal insight on fraud-related crimes. He has served on the faculty of governmental advocacy institutes and two law schools and was a principal author of the Dallas Ethics Code, which was adopted by the Dallas City Council. He is president of the National Association of Former U.S. Attorneys (NAFUSA) and is one of six members of the DOJ Liaison Committee.
