Karen  Munoz, Esq.

Karen Munoz is a seasoned plaintiff’s attorney, wellness educator, and the founder of Roaring Grace, a legal wellness consultancy dedicated to helping lawyers thrive. After nearly two decades practicing trauma-informed law, Karen is now pursuing a master’s in psychology with a focus on integrating mindfulness, resilience, and emotional intelligence into the legal field. Through her work as a speaker, yoga teacher, and educator, she brings a unique perspective on what it means to be both a strong advocate and a healthy human being in the legal world.

Ms. Munoz is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Illinois, Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar, and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She obtained her law degree from the John Marshall Law School (UIC) in Chicago.

A lawyer well-being advocate and yoga teacher, she not only imparts her knowledge through teaching and writing but actively contributes to the betterment of the legal community. Serving on legal committees and extending wellness support to law firms and legal organizations, she passionately champions the cause of lawyer well-being. Recognizing the transformative impact of volunteering, she generously dedicates her time to non-profit endeavors while also serving as a mentor to younger lawyers and aspiring legal professionals. These volunteer efforts have earned her recognition and awards in the legal community.

"I am the first in my family to graduate high school, college, and law school, and I'm deeply proud of my roots. I know what it's like to navigate spaces where you feel like an outsider, to push forward without a roadmap, and to carve out success in a system that wasn't built with you in mind. That experience has shaped my resilience, empathy, and commitment to lifting others up.

As a longtime plaintiff's attorney, legal wellness advocate, and now the founder of Roaring Grace, I understand the immense pressures lawyers and law students face. I've been there. I've seen how the legal profession can both inspire and exhaust, and I believe we need a culture that supports the whole lawyer, not just what they produce.

That's why I've dedicated myself to creating a space where legal professionals can thrive, not just survive. My work is grounded in trauma-informed lawyering, mindfulness, and resilience, helping legal folks build careers that align with their values and well-being.

You are not alone in this journey. And together, we can redefine what it means to succeed in the law."
