Ilya Lerma is a cum laude graduate of NAU, philosophy and received a law degree from the University of Arizona in 1995. While still in law school, Ilya tried felony-level criminal cases with the Pima County Public Defender as a 38(e) law clerk and volunteered for the Federal Public Defender in Tucson, Arizona. She became partner in the law firm Tidmore & Lerma where she practiced in personal and complex injury for over ten years, trying wrongful death, personal injury and brain trauma cases to jury. She began her solo practice in 2015. In 2017, Ilya became an instructor for the Trojan Horse Method, a national training platform for trial lawyers, and subsequently became a national trial consultant and witness preparation consultant for Trial Structure ™ in 2018. Ilya lectures nationwide and trains state associations for justice and plaintiff lawyers across the country in the Trial Structure ™ method. She has presented at prestigious conferences including Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Western States Association for Justice, CAALA Women Trial Skills Conference, the Alliance of Women Trial Lawyers, Arizona State University College of Law, Trial Skills College and the American Association for Justice in New York for the Weekend with the Stars.
