Goli Mahdavi is a seasoned litigator who handles a variety of commercial litigation and business disputes before state and federal trial courts. Ms. Mahdavi is a member of the firm’s Consumer Financial Services Litigation Team and represents a diverse array of business clients, including financial institutions, consumer product manufacturers, major retailers, and individual parties.
Ms. Mahdavi also has experience advising clients with regulatory issues, and defending clients against claims arising under various federal lending and banking regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and state unfair and deceptive acts or practices (UDAP) statutes.
Ms. Mahdavi’s experience encompasses all aspects of litigation, including case strategy; managing discovery; witness preparation and depositions; negotiating settlements; preparing complex dispositive and non-dispositive motions; pre-trial motions, and trial itself.
Ms. Mahdavi is an active member of the Lawyers of Color Affinity Group, and participates in the firm’s pro bono program, representing parents of disabled and special needs children in their efforts to obtain reasonable accommodations. Ms. Mahdavi currently serves on the Board of Directors for Support for Families of Children with Disabilities.
During law school, Ms. Mahdavi was editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and served as a judicial extern for Magistrate Judge Bernard Zimmerman (ret.) of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
