Click here to find out moreDonna Echiverri-Beckham received her Juris Doctor in 1983 from the San Beda Law College in Manila, Philippines. She took and passed that year’s Philippine Bar exam and received her 1st law license from the Philippine Supreme Court on May 1984. Beginning the next 2 school years, June 1985 thru March 1987, Donna was a law professor of San Beda Law College. Thereupon, Donna migrated to the US and interned for 3 years as a legal assistant in a law office in downtown San Francisco. Based on her Philippine Law license, Donna was granted a waiver for further education and review to take the California Bar exam in July to August 1991. Her CA license was granted on December 30, 1991. Her areas of practice through the years include Immigration, probate and family law.
Donna’s background is diverse. She was Senior Officer of the Philippine Presidential Management Staff, Office of the President from July 1978 thru March 1987, undertaking research to advice on national macroeconomics, finance, forestry, natural resources and human settlements. As such Donna, represented the Office of the President in a bilateral tax treaty negotiation with Australia; in the 1st Philippine Shariah Law Conference; in year-round peace talks in Muslim Mindanao; and various multi-country conferences. As such, Donna speaks a Mindanao dialect aside from the Tagalog national language and conversational Spanish as spoken in some Philippine southern regions.
Donna often practices in association with her daughter Hope Echiverri Ranoa. Hope obtained her California license in September 2014.
