David Libertella is an associate in WSHB’s Orange County office, where he counsels firm clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters.
A graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, while in law school, Mr. Libertella served as a certified legal intern at multiple branches of the Office of the San Diego County Public Defender, where he represented indigent criminal defendants in felony, misdemeanor and juvenile criminal proceedings. He also clerked for the Honorable Anthony J. Battaglia at the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and was active in the San Diego Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Lawyers Club of San Diego, the Italian American Bar Association of San Diego, the National Italian American Bar Association, and the Italian American Lawyers of Orange County.
Mr. Libertella has written, photographed, directed, produced, edited, and scored several short films and feature films. At just sixteen years of age, he won “best student short” at the Phoenix Film Festival, as well as a Telly Award. He later worked in the Los Angeles film industry as a freelance cinematographer where he lit, photographed, and produced commercials, short films, feature films, and music videos. David also founded and co-owned a motion picture lighting equipment rental company in Los Angeles.
When not practicing law, David enjoys playing extemporaneous and pre-written jazz, blues, and rock n’ roll guitar, piano, and harmonica. He also enjoys collecting vinyl records.
