Click here to find out moreVirginia Scott directs and teaches physical theater. She directs the Commedia Company and Some Clowns, performing original commedia and clown shows respectively. Recently she directed and devised an original show with the third-year MFA students at ACT at the Strand Theater in San Francisco and directed the Government Inspector and Waiting for Godot at SUNY Purchase. This summer she created an original gestural language adaptation of The Odyssey in residency at the Visionary in Mount Vision, NY. She directed and wrote the long-running off-Broadway circus-comedy, Planet Banana and her shows have appeared at venues such as in New York, The Irish Repertory Theatre, Ars Nova Mainstage, 59E59, The Zipper Theatre, UCB, The PIT, Nuyorican Poets Café, The New York Fringe Festival and the International Clown Festival; in Los Angeles at The Comedy Central Theatre, The Hollywood Fringe, UCB LA, Live Arts, The Complex, the Griffith Park stage and the Fowler museum at UCLA; regionally at The US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen; and internationally at The Guilded Balloon in Edinburgh, The Centaur Theatre in Montreal and the Grahamstown International Festival in South Africa. Virginia teaches teaches/has taught at schools such as Brooklyn College (MFA), The Juilliard School (MFA/BFA), ACT (MFA), USC (MFA), Pace University (BFA/BA), Montclair State University (BFA), Movement Theater Studio, and Tisch at NYU (BFA). She was a co-founder and faculty member of the Funny School of Good Acting and recently published through TCG Discovering the Clown: the Funny Book of Good Acting.
