John Niedemhofer, JD
John Niedernhofer is MMA’s National Complex Claims Leader. He provides leadership, guidance, and overall support for the firm’s regional claims teams, especially in the event of a complex claim. Leveraging over 30 years of insurance and risk management experience, John fulfills a critical role, bridging relationships between clients and carriers with the goal of successful claim resolution.
Prior to his national role, John has served as a Principal and the Business Insurance Division Managing Director in the West. He brings a depth of experience, including prior work as General Counsel, a regional financial lines manager for a global insurance broker, claims department manager, and field claim adjuster, among others. He was also the Executive Liability Practice Leader at Barney & Barney, one of MMA’s legacy agencies.
John has directed underwriting teams and served as a wholesale insurance broker for D&O, E&O, cyber and related coverages. He is a frequent author and public speaker, and has been active on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards of directors. He is also active in corporate governance and very involved in the community.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Doctor of Law degree from George Mason University School of Law. He is an Associate (inactive) member of the Virginia Bar and inactive member of the California Bar, Division of General Counsel.
