A partner at Paone Zaleski & Murphy, Ms. Murphy (formerly Ms. Ansello) focuses her practice in family law, child custody and divorce.
Ms. Murphy is admitted to the bar in New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia. She is a voting member of the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, serving as co-chair of the Young Lawyers Section for the 2016-2017 year. Ms. Murphy was also elected as a Trustee for the Monmouth County Legal Aid Society for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 terms. In January of 2018, Ms. Murphy received the Martin Goldin Award for excellence in the practice of family law. Ms. Murphy was presented with the award by the Family Law Committee of the Middlesex County Bar Association at its Annual Family Law Dinner Meeting held at the Pines Manor in Edison, New Jersey on January 24, 2018. In 2018, Ms. Murphy was named a Top Lawyer in Monmouth County by Monmouth Health & Life Magazine.
Ms. Murphy is an Associate Editor for New Jersey Family Lawyer, a publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Section. Several articles written by Ms. Murphy have been published in that periodical, including “Cohabitation and the Amended Alimony Statute: Has the Economic Needs Standard Been Replaced?,” which was published in the June 2016 edition. Ms. Murphy has also spoken at several seminars on issues relating to family law. She was chosen as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star for the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 years.
Ms. Murphy is a member of the Middlesex County, Monmouth County, and New Jersey State (Family Law Section) Bar Associations. She presently serves on both the Monmouth Bar Association Family Law Committee and Monmouth Bar Association Young Lawyers Committee. Before joining the firm, she served as clerk to the Hon. Lisa Perez-Friscia, J.S.C., Family Part, Bergen County, and practiced divorce and family law at the firm of Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti in Morristown.
Ms. Murphy earned her Bachelor’s Degree at University of Maryland, where she graduated summa cum laude as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Juris Doctorate from University of Maryland School of Law, cum laude, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class.
