Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, more and more attorneys have been working remotely. But what do the ethics rules say about this new wave of remote work? In our presentation, we will explore whether attorneys can work remotely without committing the unauthorized practice of law.

Attorneys will learn about ABA Model Rule 5.5, exceptions to the unauthorized practice of law, ABA Formal Opinions 495 and 498, which concern the unauthorized practice of law by remote attorneys, and recently issued state opinions regarding the same.
