Description

Jones Day attorneys Irene Fiorentinos and Josh Fuchs address the ethical challenges that corporate counsel and litigation counsel face in the course of e-discovery, and suggest solutions for those challenges, including: establishing practices for retention of electronically created records and information on company and third party sites; determining a reasonable scope for preservation of data; implementing best practices for collecting ESI; making appropriate vendor and outsourcing decisions; and complying with judicially-imposed cooperation principles.

NOTE: This course has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of Texas Committee on MCLE in the amount of 1.0 credit hours, of which 1.0 credit hours will apply to legal ethics/professional responsibility credit.

Irene Savanis Fiorentinos, Esq. is Of Counsel at Jones Day (which she joined in 1987), and resident in its Chicago office, where her areas of focus are trial practice and e-discovery. She has extensive experience with complex commercial litigation, in a wide variety of practice areas, and she regularly counsels U.S. and non-U.S. clients on a variety of litigation-related topics. Ms. Fiorentinos is actively involved with her firm's electronic discovery initiatives and lawyer training activities and regularly lectures and writes on e-discovery issues. She is a member of the American Bar Association (co-chair of the E-Discovery Subcommittee of the Commercial and Business Litigation Committee) and The Chicago Bar Association.
